MT. VERNON – Jefferson County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the July 27 deadly shooting in the 600 block of South 15th Street in Mt. Vernon.
Mt. Vernon Police recently arrested 26-year-old Jamaro J. Kemmerling of Mt. Vernon. He’s charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Repeat Felony Offender.
Two people died in the shooting. Several others were injured.
Police say additional arrests and charges are anticipated as the investigation continues into the shooting.
