The event will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon in partnership with the Carmi Chamber of Commerce, followed by remarks from college leaders and local and state officials, building tours, and light refreshments throughout the afternoon.

“This facility represents our commitment to workforce development and access to high-quality training opportunities for residents in White County and beyond,” said Dr. Karen Weiss, SIC president. “We are excited to welcome the community into this beautiful space and celebrate all that it will offer our region.”

The Williams Center brings to life a vision that has been shared by educators and community leaders for decades. It is named in honor of Stanford D. Williams, a respected Carmi leader and longtime advocate for education and economic opportunity in southeastern Illinois.

The grand opening is open to the public. For more information, contact the SIC President’s Office at 618-252-5400, ext. 2101, or email presidentsoffice@sic.edu
