ELGIN – Judith Loehr, 84, of Elgin, Illinois, formerly of Belle Prairie, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at her home in Elgin. Judith was born June 28, 1941, in Hamilton County, Illinois, and was a daughter of Carl Halley and Maxene (Severs) Halley. On December 14, 1959, she married Ralph M. Loehr, and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2022.
Judith was a Catholic by faith. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, working puzzles, going to movies, and bowling.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen (Thomas) Bergholt, Hampshire, IL, and Karla (Ray) Schaefer, Wheaton, IL; her sister, Shelley (Russell) Allen, Belle Prairie City, IL; and her grandchildren, Derek, Traven, Devin, and Kaden Bergholt, and Sinclaire and Hank Schaefer.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Lavern “Pete” Halley.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be given to the Crouch Cemetery and may be left at Harre Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL. A graveside service will follow at Crouch Cemetery, Belle Prairie, IL, with Father Slawomir Ptak presiding.
