MCLEANSBORO – Curtis Varney, 89, of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
Curtis was born June 27, 1936, in Broughton, IL. He married Teoria Clevenger on November 23, 1962, in White County, IL. Teoria passed away November 22, 2022.
Curtis attended Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church and he loved hunting. He was a welder for Babcock & Wilcox of Mt. Vernon, IN, and Joy Manufacturing in Mt. Vernon, IL. Curtis served as an E4 in the United States Army.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Teoria; and sister, Doris Varney of Hughey, IL.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2025, at Hopewell Cemetery in McLeansboro, IL, with pastor Matt Barnard officiating.
The Harre Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
