MT. VERNON – A Mt. Vernon man is behind bars in Jefferson County for Arson and Criminal Damage to State Supported Property following an ongoing arson investigation involving a residential fire at 11 Circle Drive in Waltonville on June 13.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Mt. Vernon Police made contact with 29-year-old Jory L. Brown Thursday. He was arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center.
The residence is owned by the Housing Authority of Jefferson County.
The Waltonville Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s Arson investigator assisted with the investigation.
