MT. VERNON – Two people have been arrested in connection with the July 6 burglary at Colonel Pete’s Storage in Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Bobby W. Cottrill and 45-year-old Amanda G. Peters were taken into custody after sheriff’s detectives carried out a search warrant at a home in the 300 block of Highland Avenue in Fairfield Tuesday afternoon.
The search resulted in evidence and recovered stolen property located at the home, which was collected and secured by investigators.
Cottrill is charged with Burglary, Theft under $500 with a Prior Conviction and Criminal Damage to Property. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. Online court records show Cottrill was scheduled to appear in court by video Wednesday afternoon.
Peters is being held in Wayne County on unrelated arrest warrants from Wayne and Clay counties. Criminal charges for Peters will be requested through the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office.
