MARION – Two men have been charged with First-degree Murder in the recent death of Richard Frank John Hernandez at an abandoned home in the 8000 block of Chittyville Road in Williamson County.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says the State’s Attorney’s office charged Anthony R. Henderson and Wyatt P. Holland with the offense Wednesday. They were both arrested for Armed Robbery in an unrelated case on July 3 and charged with that offense on July 5.
Autopsy results showed Hernandez sustained several gunshot wounds at the home on June 30.
The sheriff’s office requested Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators to process the scene for forensic evidence.
During the investigation, detectives uncovered additional criminal activity including armed robbery and unlawful restraint. One of the suspects provided a confession including details of the murder which were corroborated by witness statements and supporting evidence.
Both men are lodged in the Williamson County Jail.
