Two Suspects Arrested in Stolen Go-cart Investigation in Franklin County

BENTON – Two people are facing theft charges in Franklin County after they allegedly stole a go-cart from a rural Benton home last Wednesday.

Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon says deputies went to the home and spoke to the owner who reported the theft to the sheriff’s office. Information and evidence was gathered and a suspect and suspect vehicle was developed.

On Sunday, a deputy on patrol saw the suspect vehicle and stopped it.

Twenty-seven-year-old James A. Key Jr. of West Frankfort was arrested and taken to the Franklin County Jail charged with Theft over $500.

A second suspect, identified as 35-year-old Justin A. Weston of Woodlawn, was later located and taken into custody. Weston was taken to the Franklin County Jail charged with Theft over $500. The stolen property was recovered as a result of the arrest.
