CARMI – Alcohol played a role in a property damage accident early Sunday morning in Carmi.
Carmi Police say 33-year-old Mitchell T. Davis of Cynthiana, IN, hit a power pole with his truck and was driving recklessly on East Main Street.
Police found Davis and his truck. Davis tried to flee, but police, with help from the White County Sheriff’s Office, were able to take him into custody after the truck crashed in the 1400 block of East Main.
Davis was cited for DUI of Alcohol, DUI of Alcohol .08 or greater, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police.
Davis was taken to and lodged in the White County Jail.
