BENTON – The Benton Police and Fire Departments are collecting new backpacks now through Aug. 1 to give away at the Back to School Block Party on Aug. 2.
You can bring new backpacks to either department.
If you bring them to the police department, come into the main foyer and call dispatch on the red phone to let them know you dropping off.
The event will be held on Aug. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., on Washington Street between the fire and police station. There will be games, inflatables, drawings for prizes, food and free family fun.
