JEFFERSON COUNTY – A crash involving two semis happened around 11:30 Friday morning on eastbound I-64, just east of U.S. 51, in Jefferson County.
According to Illinois State Police, both semis were going east through a one-lane construction zone – one hauling metal utility poles and the other towing a car hauler trailer.
Traffic had slowed or stopped in front of the car hauler. The semi carrying utility poles failed to slow down, rear-ended the car hauler, and then hit the concrete median. The impact pushed the barrier into the westbound lanes.
Injuries were reported but no one was taken from the scene.
