PADUCAH – Summer starts Friday and it’ll bring with it hottest temperatures of the season this weekend.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Paducah say our highs Saturday and Sunday will reach the lower to middle 90s with heat index values of 100 to 105 both days. This will be near Heat Advisory levels, so this will be an elevated risk of heat-related health impacts.
Before that heat gets here this weekend, forecasters say there will be some scattered strong to severe thunderstorms developing late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night ahead of an approaching cold front. Damaging wind gusts, a few tornadoes, and large hail are the main threats. Stay tuned for updates.
