MARION – The Franklin-Williamson Positive Youth Development Action Team has announced that this year’s Southern Illinois Back to School Expo has been canceled due to a lack of funding and funding challenges that support the event.
According to the organization’s Facebook page, the team understands that this decision will, unfortunately, be inconvenient and challenging for families in southern Illinois for the upcoming school year. They are currently working to find new opportunities, funding, and options to hold the expo next year. The team will be posting alternative Back-to-School opportunities in the southern Illinois region on its Facebook page to help spread awareness and share other local resources for families to assist in 2025.
