HARRISBURG – A 61-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a trauma hospital in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle early Tuesday morning on Ford Street near Frank Leberman Drive in Harrisburg.
According to information from Harrisburg Police and Illinois State Police, the suspect fled the scene but was later caught. The victim’s name was not released.
Police say the investigation was turned over to ISP Zone 8 Investigations and a Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
Harrisburg Police were assisted by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Harrisburg Fire Department and Abbott EMS.
