MARION – Construction on a new roundabout at the intersection of Illinois 37 and Wildcat Drive south of Marion is underway. It is expected to be finished on Aug. 8.
According to IDOT, the recently installed detour signs directing southbound traffic on Illinois 37 to use I-57 applies only to large trucks due to an upcoming width restriction in the work zone. Illinois 37 will remain open during roundabout construction. This portion of the project will be completed one half at a time and will be managed using temporary traffic signals to maintain traffic flow. The contractor is planning to close Wildcat Drive next week.
