MURPHYSBORO – Westbound Illinois 149/Walnut Street from 5th to 7th streets in Murphysboro will be closed to traffic, weather permitting, starting at 6 a.m. Monday for the reconstruction of the westbound lanes of Illinois 149. Work is expected to be finished by 6 a.m. Saturday, June 7.
During the closure, Illinois 149 eastbound will remain open but will be reduced to one 10-foot-wide lane through the work zone. Illinois 127/5th Street will not be affected. A marked detour will be posted to guide you around the closure.
