CARBONDALE – A Carbondale man is facing charges in an early Wednesday morning shooting in Carbondale.
Carbondale Police say 25-year-old David D. Ward was arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Restraint and Domestic Battery. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Just after 6:30 a.m., police responded to the 300 block of South Cedarview Street for a report of shots fired and learned Ward had fired several shots into an unoccupied parked vehicle during a personal dispute with someone he knew.
Police detectives were able to get search warrants with help from the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s office. A gun was recovered during the investigation.
The victim received a minor injury, not related to the shooting, but declined medical treatment. The vehicle was the only thing damaged from the shooting.
