MARION – The Marion Unit 2 School District announced Monday that it is rallying around the Marion community in the wake of Friday night’s EF-4 tornado that ripped a 16.5 mile path through southern Williamson County injuring seven people and causing significant damage to homes and infrastructure.
According to District Superintendent Becky Moss, families are in urgent need of essentials like clothing, food, temporary shelter support and more as they begin the difficult process of recovery and rebuilding.
Donations, whether monetary or in-kind, will go directly to Marion Unit 2 families who need immediate support. Every contribution – large or small – will make a difference in the lives of Unit 2 students, staff and families who are trying to find stability and home after this traumatic event.
Cash, check or gift card donations will be accepted at any Marion Unit 2 school building in Marion or Creal Springs or at the administration office behind Marion Junior High on Cherry Street until Friday.
The school district is also collecting gift cards for purchasing essential items like from Kroger, Walmart, Target, Aldi, and so on.
