Rep. Windhorst Congratulates Rural Pope County EMS and Pope County Fire Department on Receiving Honors at Annual Firefighter Memorial in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Representative Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) is congratulating members of the Pope County EMS & Rural Pope County Fire Protection District on receiving a Certificate of Recognition Award as part of an annual tradition at the State Capitol that honors the memories of fallen firefighters and the heroic actions of individuals and departments from throughout the state.

This year, the Rural Pope County EMS & Rural Pope County Fire Protection District was honored with the Certificate of Recognition Award, which recognizes individuals and departments’ dedication to the principles and traditions of the fire service in the state and the community with honor and integrity.

Members of the Rural Pope County EMS, Rural Pope County Fire Protection District, and the Pope County Sheriff’s Department worked together during an incident last June where they saved the life of a man who had a heart attack.

“I want to congratulate all the brave and hard-working men and women of the Rural Pope County EMS & Pope County Fire Protection District on achieving this tremendous honor,” Rep. Windhorst said. “I continue to be amazed at the professionalism, dedication, skill, and sacrifice that our first responders make to keep us all safe. God bless them in their work. We pray for their continued protection and thank them for their service and sacrifice.”

Honored members of the departments include Chief Joshua Light, Assistant Chief Brandon Dalton, Captain Breyer Clark, Lieutenant Billy Dalton, FF/EMR Charles Risley, FF/EMT Logan Campbell, FF/EMT Dustin Dahmer, FF/EMT Anne Light, FF/EMT Harold Sweet, FF Andrew Bonnell, FF Braeden Dalton, FF Richard “Red” Davenport, FF Peyton Deom, FF Paul Martin, FF Jason Travis, FF Steve Walker, EMT Ladonna Risley, Dispatcher Sean Lane, and Deputy Devin Graves.
