JACKSON COUNTY – Ameren Illinois crews are investigating the cause of a power outage that happened around 4:15 this morning in Carbondale and surrounding Jackson County communities.
The outage impacted nearly 7,000 customers. Crews worked with dispatch and were able to safely re-route customers to other power sources in the area. Everyone was restored by 4:46 a.m.
The cause has yet to be determined, however, crews are currently inspecting all equipment in the area.
