Marion High Safe after Smoke Alarm Goes Off during Maintenance Work

MARION – The Marion Fire Department paid a visit to Marion High School Monday morning after a smoke detector was accidentally triggered in a janitorial closet where routine maintenance work was taking place that kicked up materials.

According to school officials, those materials, in turn, set off the detector in the area.

The fire department quickly responded to make sure the school was safe. They said it was and alarms were reset.

Students were brought back inside. Classes resumed on a normal schedule.
