MARION – A man is facing multiple offenses after Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a 38-year-old man struck by a vehicle in the 11000 block of Saraville Road late Saturday night.
Deputies arrived and found the victim lying on the ground in the driveway of the home when a truck drove over the victim causing fatal injuries.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a suitable landing zone where he was to be airlifted by helicopter to a regional trauma center.
While in route, the aircraft was diverted to Harrisburg Medical Center due to the victim’s diminishing medical condition. The victim was pronounced dead early Sunday morning in Harrisburg.
A search warrant was obtained and evidence was recovered. The sheriff’s office requested the assistance of the Illinois State Police Crime Scene.
Trevor J. Stewart was arrested and cited for Reckless Homicide, Aggravated DUI, Obstructing Justice and Reckless Conduct. Stewart was taken and booked into the Williamson County Jail.
This remains an ongoing investigation and additional charges are anticipated.
