NASON – A Nason woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Obstructing Justice following an investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office into a tip about a stolen vehicle being concealed at 352 N. 3rd St. in Nason.
Forty-eight-year-old Michelle L. McKinney was taken to and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail. She was released with a mandatory court date per the new bail system under the SAFE-T Act.
The subsequent investigation led to a search warrant for the North 3rd Street home being served Tuesday. A black 2009 GMC pickup truck, reported stolen from Wayne County, was recovered as a result after learning it had been moved from that property to an alternate location in attempt to further conceal it.
