URBANDALE, IA – Doris Gilbert, 94, of Urbandale, Iowa, and formally of West Frankfort, passed away on Friday November 8, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa.
She was born on July 27, 1930 in Herrin, Illinois, to Ido and Minnie (Enrico) Ceresoli. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Royalton where she was very active. She loved being with her family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett; step-daughter, Nancy (Clay) Shumard; parents, brother, Robert (Gloria) Ceresoli; nephews, Bruce and Jeff Ceresoli; and dear Ceresoli cousins.
She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Jeff) Dimon; step-son Jerry (Jo) Gilbert; and 2 granddaughters, Annamaria and Giuliana.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Royalton. Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday morning at the church from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. at the church on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass.
Memorials may be made to the St. Aloysius Catholic Church or to the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorials will be accepted at the funeral home.
