UPDATE: As of 9:22 a.m., all Herrin schools are no longer on soft lockdown.
ORIGINAL STORY:
HERRIN – Herrin Schools are on a soft lockdown this morning per guidance from the Herrin Police Department due to an incident happening that is unrelated to the school district.
According to a Herrin Unit 4 School District Facebook post, a heightened police presence may be evident in the vicinity of their school buildings. There is no threat to students.
