METROPOLIS – A Joppa man was arrested following a reported domestic disturbance Sunday in the area of 10th Street and Ferry Street in Metropolis.
According to Metropolis Police, officers were called to the area and saw 41-year-old Brandon L. Smith struggling with a female.
When Smith saw police, he fled the area. A foot chase ensued and Smith was caught near North Avenue and 12th Street.
The victim told police that Smith was trying to take money from her purse.
Smith was charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery, Robbery, and Resisting Arrest.
He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
