Tuesday Afternoon Shooting in Mt. Vernon Sends One to the Hospital

MT. VERNON (WMIX) – Mt. Vernon Police are investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting that sent one adult male to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

According to Mt. Vernon Police Chief Robert Brands, the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. in an alley in the 200 block of Logan in Mt. Vernon.

Chief Brands says they developed two persons of interest — one an adult male and the other a juvenile male — and quickly detained the adult. Police continue to search for the juvenile subject.

The investigation is ongoing and the identities of those involved are not being released at this time.
