Carbondale Man Caught after Displaying Stolen Gun, Fleeing Police

CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police report that a Carbondale man is facing charges after displaying a stolen firearm and fleeing from police Tuesday night.

Police responded to the scene in the 400 block of East College Street at 7:15 p.m. for a person displaying a firearm. That’s where they found the suspect, identified later as 18-year-old Isaiah L. Pryor of Carbondale.

When Pryor saw officers, he fled on foot and was quickly caught. Officers found the firearm Pryor discarded and learned it had been reported stolen from a nearby jurisdiction.

Pryor was charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Resisting a Peace Officer. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
