MARION – Hunter Holmes Melvin Lincoln, age 27, passed away on Monday, April 29th, 2024. Hunter was born June 13, 1996, to Bart and Jennifer Lincoln.
He was a Marion High School athlete where he excelled in football. He holds the record being third in school history in career interceptions. He graduated as Homecoming King with the Class of 2015. He loved hunting, fishing, and attending music festivals. He was also an avid mushroom hunter. He had an affinity for the finer things in life, including designer labels. Hunter had a powerful presence and was loved by all who knew him.
Hunter married the love of his life, Kierra Peppers Lincoln, on September 30, 2023, at Starlight Lake. He loved and adored her in every way. She gave his life a new purpose and direction.
Hunter was a coal miner at Knight Hawk Coal and was respected and valued by his fellow miners. Among so many other things, Hunter was looking forward to becoming an uncle. His sister, Halli and Cedric Carter are expecting a daughter in June.
Hunter never met a stranger and formed an instant connection with anyone in his path. He was cherished and adored by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Hunter’s life will be honored privately by his family. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Free Again Wildlife Rehabilitation or Crab Orchard Waterfowl Association.
The Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.
