Ferrell Hospital Recognizes as One of 27 Hospitals to Know in 2024

ELDORADO – Ferrell Hospital has been honored with the prestigious designation of being named one of “27 Critical Access Hospitals to Know in 2024” by Becker’s Healthcare. This recognition underscores Ferrell Hospital’s pivotal role as a critical access hospital, providing high-quality health care to residents and visitors in rural areas.

As a critical access hospital, Ferrell Hospital remains dedicated to offering round-the-clock emergency care and maintains no more than 25 inpatient beds. Over the years, Ferrell Hospital has diligently worked to enhance access to specialty care, reduce patient travel times and advance community health initiatives.

With a growing team of more than 40 providers, Ferrell Hospital has introduced a number of new service lines, including surgery, cardiology, oncology, pulmonology, ENT, rheumatology, orthopedics and urology.

In tandem with its commitment to excellence in patient care, Ferrell Hospital has undergone significant physical expansion, increasing its footprint from 33,000 square-feet to 88,000 square-feet to better serve the needs of the community. The hospital’s dedication to patient satisfaction was validated in 2023 with a 5-star CMS rating, a testament to its unwavering commitment to quality care.

Additionally, Ferrell Hospital has garnered recognition as one of the nation’s top 10% of critical access hospitals, earning the distinguished title of high-achieving HCAHPS hospital from the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network. The hospital’s investment in innovation has also been recognized with consecutive acknowledgements in 2022 and 2023 by CHIME.
