Franklin County Deputies Arrest Burglary Suspect, Stolen Property Recovered

BENTON – A Franklin County man has been arrested in connection with some items that were stolen in Buckner over the weekend.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon, 30-year-old William D. Basenburg Jr. of Buckner has been charged with Burglary (Class 2 Felony) and Theft in excess of $10,000 (Class 2 Felony). Basenburg is currently lodged in the Franklin County Jail.

Sheriff Bacon says sheriff’s deputies and detectives Sunday morning began investigating a burglary that happened in Buckner regarding stolen items that included a Polaris Crew Cab Side-by-Side vehicle and a large amount of high end tools and equipment.

The sheriff says they worked with the victim and followed up on tip information that led to a suspect, Basenburg, being developed. On Tuesday, deputies and detectives were able to locate Basenburg and conduct an interview. As a result, the stolen property was recovered from two different locations in Franklin County.

Basenburg Jr. was then charged with the offenses we mentioned at the beginning of this story and taken to jail.
