JALC’s World Music and Food Day Wednesday in Carterville

CARTERVILLE – The John A. Logan College Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host World Music and Food Day next week.

It will be held on Wednesday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the JALC Conference Center in Carterville.

Over a dozen countries will be represented with unique cuisine and music. This year’s theme is “A Whole World of Flavor to Explore and Enjoy,” focusing on species worldwide. Professor Yuko Kato and Professor David Dillard from the SIU School of Music will deliver the keynote address: A Musical Journey Through Europe and the Americas.

“We will add more spice to campus life by featuring a variety of ethical foods and music from around the world,” said event organizer Toyin Fox. “We hope this will boost our positivity and spirit of togetherness, community, hope, healing, love, and nurturing as we strive for progress and sustainability.”
