Man Found with Illegal Drugs after Being Stopped for Damaging Property in Hurst

HURST – A man was recently cited after Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies stopped him after he drove through yards damaging property in the 100 block of North Wilson Street in Hurst.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Ricky A. Cooper was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance, Driving while License Revoked, Possession of Adult Use Cannabis inside a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The property owner elected not to sign a complaint for criminal damage to property.

Cooper was taken to and lodged in the Williamson County Jail.

Deputies responded to the Hurst address around 4:30 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 7, after a resident reported that Cooper was driving through yards and damaging property by operating a vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Deputies saw significant damage to the yard. The property owner reported seeing Cooper driving a black Toyota Four Runner.

While speaking with the property owner, deputies saw the Four Runner drive by. The property owner stated, “There he is now.”

The vehicle was stopped, and Cooper was identified as the driver. He had a revoked driver’s license.

A further investigation discovered Cooper to have in his possession methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, psilocybin mushroom, and cannabis.

Cooper was arrested, cited and taken to jail.
