Metropolis Police Report

METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.

December 18, 2023

A Metropolis officer stopped a silver Nissan on U.S. 45 near Woodhaven for speeding, 65 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. A computer check revealed that the driver, Mikell M. Higgins, 25, of Hopkinsville, KY, had a suspended driver’s license. Higgins was charged with the speeding and driving while license suspended and released on a notice to appear.

December 29, 2023

Gerald W. Bratton, 55, of Paducah, KY, was arrested on the frontage road by Acees’ Truck Stop. Bratton was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Tennessee for Forgery. Bratton was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center pending extradition to Tennessee.
