Man Cited in Williamson County for Violating Sex Offender Registration

MARION – A man was recently cited for violating the state’s sex offender registry and other violations after Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies saw him commit several traffic violations in the area of Illinois 13 and I-57 in Marion.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop around 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 21 and identified the driver as Christopher P. Richards.

Richards was discovered to be driving while license revoked and to be in violation of sex offender registration requirements.

Richards was cited for Violation Sex Offender Registry (Class 3 Felony), Driving While License Revoked (Class A Misdemeanor), and No Valid Driver’s License (Class A Misdemeanor).

Richards was transported to and remanded into the custody of the Williamson County Jail.
