Around 3:40 a.m. on Dec. 13, Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies saw a vehicle Mangum was in commit multiple traffic violations and pulled it over. While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, deputies identified inconsistencies in their explanation of travel details. Both occupants appeared nervous and the odor of cannabis was emitting from the vehicle.

While walking to the patrol car, deputies saw Mangum traveling slowly and proceeding with hesitation. When asked, Mangum stated he did not have anything illegal on him.
