Metropolis Police Report

METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023.

November 24, 2023

Metropolis officers were dispatched to Massac Village Apartments. for a noise complaint. The caller stated there was a male who appeared to be intoxicated, walking around the parking lot being very loud. The caller also said the male was hanging around and looking into vehicles. Upon arrival, officers located the subject walking on Metropolis Street. A computer check showed that Jerry A. Thoe, 37, of Karnak was wanted on warrants. The warrants were issued by Massac County for FTA-Possession of Methamphetamine and Ppossession of Drug Paraphernalia. Thoe was found to be holding a glass pipe wit Meth residue on his hand. Thoe was charged with the warrants and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. He was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and issued a notice to appear.

November 26, 2023

Metropolis officers were called to the Acee’s gas station. The manager reported a child had been left unattended in a car for over an hour. The caller stated the adult female had returned to the vehicle and was at one of the gas pumps. Upon arrival, Riccaijenine K. Hunter, 27, of Decatur, GA advised that she had reclined the seat to take a nap and had not left the child unattended. A computer check revealed that she was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Woodford County, IL for FTA-No Valid Driver’s License. Hunter was arrested and transported to the Massac County Detention Center where she was able to post bond, (warrant issued prior to Safe-T Act going into effect so there was a bond set) and was released.
