MT. VERNON (WMIX) – If you have an iPhone and have done the recent iOS 17 update, local law enforcement is alerting the public to a new feature called “NameDrop” being defaulted to ON.
The feature reportedly allows the sharing of your contact information just by bringing your phones close together. To shut off the setting, authorities advise you to go to Settings, General, AirDrop, Bringing Devices Together and change it to OFF.
Parents should also make sure to change these settings after the update on your children’s phones, as well.
