Charity Bailey is facing a Class 2 felony charge of aggravated domestic battery stemming from the March 2023 incident that sent her to the hospital for psychiatric care and her child to the hospital for medical treatment.

According to sheriff’s reports, after an interview with authorities, Bailey was arrested on a warrant charging her with the felony offense and was booked into the Wayne County Jail.

She’s accused of attempting to drown her child in a pond at their home on March 11. Her husband reportedly came home that day and found his wife holding the child under the water.

He rescued the child who was rushed to the hospital. Reports indicate the child is expected to make a full recovery.

The case next set for pretrial hearing on Jan. 9.
