LOGAN – Cindy Kay Darnell, 58, of Logan, passed away at 10:26 p.m., on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Herrin Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 21, 1965, to James and Carole (Haney) Rice in Benton.
Cindy was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her precious grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, loved shopping at Dollar Tree, scrapbooking and an avid dog lover. She also enjoyed collecting coupons, spending holidays with family and friends, planting flowers. She absolutely loved pushing the kids on the swing and pushing them around in their little pink car.
Cindy is survived by her son Kyle (Ellie Hattendorf) Darnell of Logan; her two granddaughters Adalyn Darnell and Calyn Hattendorf; her brother Steve (Loretta) Rice and her nephew Daniel Rice.
She was preceded in death by her parents James L. and Carole Kay Rice; and grandmother Aline “Granny” Rice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main St., Benton, IL.
Per Cindy’s wishes, cremation will take place.
