Linda Mary (Donkin) Clark

WEST FRANKFORT – Linda Mary (Donkin) Clark, 72, of West Frankfort, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Franklin Hospital in Benton, IL at 11:35 a.m.

Linda was born January 25, 1951, in Christopher, IL, to John and Dorothy (Hogg) Donkin.

She was united in marriage to David Clark on May 1, 1970, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in West Frankfort, IL. They shared over ­­­­51 years of marriage.

Linda worked for several years at the A&W/Mike’s Drive-In in West Frankfort. She later worked as a chaperone and then a cook at Frankfort CUSD #168. She retired as Head Cook at Denning Elementary School in 2013. She’s a member of the Teamster’s Local.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, a daughter Alyssa Suzanne, two sons Ryan David and Jordan Matthew Clark, her brothers Tom and Jim Donkin, her sister-in-law Mary Donkin, and her brothers-in-law Terry and George Clark.

Linda is survived by her sisters-in-law Wanda Donkin and Jenny Clark, nephews Matt Donkin, Matt Clark, and Sean (Jennifer) Donkin; nieces Marcella (Ken) Bono, Kim Clark (Jason) Haner, and Georgina Clark; great nephews Tripp and Seeley Bono, and Blake and Garrett Donkin; and grandnieces Fiona Bono, and Lauren and Libby Haner.

Linda was a proud 1969 graduate of Frankfort Community High School and a Redbird fan. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. She loved talking with friends and family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in West Frankfort, with Rev. Sheryl L. Black and  Rev. Jon E. Griffin officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Mark’s Church prior to the service. Burial will be at Boner Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Lunch Bag Program.
