CARTERVILLE -The Illinois State Fire Marshal is currently investigating a fire that destroyed a vacant home on Christine Drive in Carterville early Wednesday morning.
Firefighters from Carterville and Herrin were called out at 5:30 a.m. to put out the fire. No one was injured.
Herrin Fire along with the Williamson County Fire Protection District provided mutual aid.
