MT. VERNON – Rend Lake College is offering a free community education class on Hunter Safety with Sam Settle.
Participation in this class is a requirement in state statute for hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1980, when applying for a hunting license.
The course includes wildlife management, firearms safety, hunter ethics, game identification, first aid, survival techniques, and regulations. Preregistration is required due to limited space. You must attend both sessions and bring a pen/pencil.
Sessions will be held on Friday, Nov. 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 354A at the RLC Marketplace in Mt. Vernon.
