SESSER – The City of Sesser was recently awarded grants for various improvements in the city.
According to Sesser Mayor Jason Ashmore, the city has received a $650,000 Community Development Block Grant from the State of Illnois for Housing Rehabilitation. This money will go toward rehabbing 10 homes.
Sesser has also been awarded a $44,500 Delta Regional Authority wastewater planning grant that will be used to scope the sewer lines the city hasn’t replaced yet and rate them so the city will know which ones to replace first, and a $43,615 Delta Regional Authority water line grant to continue improving the city’s wastewater/water system infrastructure.
