METROPOLIS – IDOT says lane reductions will begin Sunday night for road construction on the I-24 Ohio River Bridge in Metropolis, weather permitting.
Lane closures will begin at 7 p.m. and will be in place through Friday morning.
The contractor will work nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Work is expected to be finished by Sept. 28.
Work includes hot mix asphalt patches, partial depth patches and pavement markings.
Motorists should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers, and use extreme caution while
traveling through all work zones.
To avoid any delays, motorists should seek other routes. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone as quickly as possible.
