CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police arrested a man following a traffic stop on a vehicle for suspended registration plates on West Sycamore Street near the intersection with North Renfro Street late Friday night.
Police say the driver, 21-year-old Immanuel N. Salley of Carbondale, was found to have a suspended driver’s license. A handgun was also found inside the vehicle.
Salley, who does not possess an Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification card, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
Carbondale Police continue to investigate.
