BENTON – Illinois State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-57 near Benton Saturday.
According to a preliminary report from ISP, ISP Troop 10 responded to southbound I-57 near mile marker 69 regarding the crash around 3:30 p.m.
A semi with a trailer and a Chevy Impala were driving on southbound I-57, when for unknown reasons, the Impala veered into the side of the semi-truck. No injuries were reported.
Traffic was diverted off of southbound I-57 onto Illinois 14 until the scene was cleared of debris. All lanes reopened shortly after 7 p.m.
ISP says there is no further information at this time.
