Man Charged after Deputies Find Domestic Violence Victim at Carterville Home

CARTERVILLE – A Carterville man is behind bars in Williamson County after Williamson County Sheriff deputies, while serving an arrest warrant at a home, discovered a severely injured female victim of domestic violence being held against her will Monday.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were successful in reuniting the victim with her family. She subsequently received medical treatment at a local hospital.
The victim suffered severe swelling and bruising to the left eye which prevented it from opening, a laceration to the forehead, multiple bruises to her arms and a broken nose.
Sheriff Jeff Diederich says this is one of the most severe and prolonged cases of domestic violence that he has seen.
Tristan R. Sine of Carterville was arrested and charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery – a Class 2 felony – and Unlawful Restraint – a Class 4 felony. Sine was also arrested on the original outstanding warrant for Domestic Battery/Bodily Harm resulting from a previous incident.
Sine was taken and booked into the Williamson County Jail.
Sheriff Diederich says this is an ongoing investigation. Additional charges are pending.
